Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Beverage, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 3.01% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb), which fell 0.89% or 0.510 points to trade at 56.760 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell 1.47% or 0.15 points to end at 10.40 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was down 1.57% or 0.68 points to 42.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BRU:SOLB), which fell 4.03% or 4.40 points to trade at 104.65 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) declined 3.91% or 5.20 points to end at 127.95 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) was down 3.72% or 3.73 points to 96.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 153 to 19 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solvay SA (BRU:SOLB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.03% or 4.40 to 104.65. Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.47% or 0.15 to 10.40.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.49% or 5.60 to $1158.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.57% or 1.06 to hit $40.26 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.48% or 1.16 to trade at $45.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.10% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP rose 0.98% to 0.7234.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.87% at 94.94.
