Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.07% or 0.02 points to trade at 28.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 26.81 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.01% or 0.005 points to 46.005 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.48% or 1.540 points to trade at 60.660 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 2.31% or 0.95 points to end at 40.34 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 2.12% or 0.290 points to 13.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 36 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.52% or 6.25 to $1197.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.88% or 0.47 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0687, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 100.46.
