Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BRU:TNET), which rose 1.63% or 0.81 points to trade at 50.59 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BRU:KBC) added 0.73% or 0.450 points to end at 61.960 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was up 0.60% or 0.24 points to 40.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which fell 2.33% or 1.89 points to trade at 79.40 at the close. Solvay (BRU:SOLB) declined 0.58% or 0.75 points to end at 128.70 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) was down 0.57% or 0.65 points to 112.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 87 to 80 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1172.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.86% or 0.52 to hit $59.75 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.41 to trade at $63.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1201, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.7122.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.42.
