Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.15% or 0.32 points to trade at 28.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.07% or 0.16 points to end at 15.08 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 0.75% or 0.85 points to 113.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 3.01% or 1.25 points to trade at 40.33 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.63% or 0.68 points to end at 40.97 and Elia (BR:ELI) was down 1.63% or 0.780 points to 47.065.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.74% or 9.70 to $1329.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.84% or 0.84 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 0.76 to trade at $46.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1010, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8332.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.05.
