Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.23% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 5.12% or 2.06 points to trade at 42.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.38% or 0.40 points to end at 104.50 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.05% or 0.01 points to 19.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 4.31% or 3.30 points to trade at 73.20 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 4.05% or 1.53 points to end at 36.21 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 2.25% or 1.11 points to 48.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 80 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.05% or 1.53 to 36.21.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.60 to $1268.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.44% or 0.30 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.13 to trade at $74.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1700, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.99.
