Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 2.13% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 9.16% or 3.83 points to trade at 45.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 4.67% or 6.10 points to end at 136.60 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 3.49% or 0.70 points to 20.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 0.06% or 0.01 points to trade at 23.46 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.09% or 0.03 points to end at 27.78 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.33% or 0.160 points to 48.565.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 79 to 26 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.55% or 6.90 to $1247.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $56.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0570, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 101.55.
