Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software & Computers, Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB), which rose 1.25% or 0.32 points to trade at 25.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) added 1.17% or 1.25 points to end at 108.40 and Umicore NV (BRU:UMI) was up 0.88% or 0.38 points to 42.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BRU:TNET), which fell 1.57% or 0.77 points to trade at 47.81 at the close. Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) declined 1.20% or 0.660 points to end at 54.330 and DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB) was down 1.13% or 0.380 points to 33.150.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 96 to 74 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.20% or 0.660 to 54.330.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1202.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.94% or 1.18 to hit $59.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.37% or 1.52 to trade at $62.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1337, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.7145.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.42.
