Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 4.21% or 2.70 points to trade at 66.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 3.35% or 0.74 points to end at 22.85 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.18% or 2.720 points to 88.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 0.79% or 0.13 points to trade at 16.24 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.36% or 0.60 points to end at 164.80 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.04% or 0.01 points to 11.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to all time lows; falling 0.79% or 0.13 to 16.24.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1232.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $67.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.22 to trade at $77.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1391, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 96.35.
