Investing.com - President Donald Trump warned in a tweet Monday about severe economic consequences for Turkey if the country does anything “off limits” following the White House’s announcement of U.S. troop withdrawal from Syria.

  • “As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!),” Trump tweeted.

  • The iShares MSCI Turkey ETF (NASDAQ:TUR) was down about 3% following the tweet.

  • Critics of the White Houe decision have said that withdrawal of troops would open the door for a Turkish operation against Kurds in Syria.

Another disaster. US lost Syrian war and abandoned its ally. Now every nation in middle east feels emboldened to pursue their own goal. KSA will be the next victim to be thrown under the bus by the US. They have no chance against Yemen and Iran.
