* France Telecom-owned group eyeing 20 percent mkt share
NAIROBI, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Telkom Kenya's Orange mobile phone service has registered 1.38 million users and expects more than 2 million by the end of this year, its chief executive said on Thursday.
Majority owned by France Telecom, the firm is eyeing a 20 percent market share of the east African nation's mobile users market.
France Telecom acquired its stake in Telkom Kenya from the government in late 2007 and was mandated to turn it around for eventual listing.
Telkom has a combined 1.8 million subscriber base for its various services including a fixed-line network, in a country whose telecoms sector is dominated by mobile phone firm, Safaricom. (Reporting by Duncan Miriri; editing by David Clarke and Jon Loades-Carter)
