Yellen says U.S. 'most likely' not entering a recession: FOX Business

(Reuters) - Former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said the U.S. is most likely not entering a recession in an interview with FOX Business Network set to air on Friday.

"I think the answer is most likely no. I think that the U.S. economy has enough strength to avoid (a recession). But the odds have clearly risen and they are higher than I'm frankly comfortable with," Yellen told the news network, according to a transcript of the interview.

She said the dip in long-term U.S. bond yields that has raised fears of a coming economic slowdown may be driven by "a number of factors" and not necessarily a "good signal" of future economic activity.

We scare ourselves into recession
economist are after all one of the most useless studies of all time. it is all opinion based on one's guess. if they had real ideas how it works inside out then why do we continue to have recessions? kinda like if cops can prevent crimes why are their still criminals? cuz cops for most of the times are body collectors, economists have power to move the market becuz we assigned them importance as if they know any better. no one knows any better other than they all think they know better than their peers
A good indicator of why you're no longer the Fed Chief.
of course it is not an indicator of recession. The yield curve does not reflect the actual demand for money it only reflects the manipulation by the central bank and of course she knows that because she was the primary one who manipulated it.
he greatest period of economic growth in U.S. history was when there was no central bank.
Another pinhead speaks
Central Bankers whether current or ex always say these things. They said in 2006, 07 & 08 too!. And I remember she once said USA would never enter a recession ever!
