Investing.com - Fed voting member Charles Evans backs two more rate hikes this year if U.S. economic recovery continues apace.
The Fed raised its target rate to 0.75%-1.0% last week and signaled a total of three hikes this year.
"As I gain more confidence in the outlook I could support three total this year," Evans said Monday.
"It could be three, it could be two, it could be four if things really pick up," Chicago Fed President told Fox Business Network TV.
President Trump is looking to boost U.S. annual economic growth to 4% from around 2% in the past few years.
Evans said 4% growth "would be really an outsized number."
