Investment Strategy

The investment seeks a total return before expenses that approximates the total return performance of the Bloomberg U.S. Intermediate Government Bond Index. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in debt securities that are included in the index, or other financial instruments that derive their value from those securities. The index is an unmanaged index that measures the performance of securities consisting of all U.S. Treasury and agency securities with remaining maturities of from one to ten years and issue amounts of at least $250 million outstanding. It also may lend its portfolio securities to earn additional income.
