CFAO SA, together with its subsidiaries, distributes vehicles and pharmaceutical products in Africa and French overseas territories. The Equipment & Services segment purchases, stores, imports, and distributes light vehicles, heavy trucks, and motorcycles; provides after-sales services; installs and maintains elevators; rents vehicles and equipment; sells spare parts and tires; and distributes transport vehicles, construction and handling machinery, agricultural equipment, generators, and elevators. It also designs and implements IT solutions, networks, and telecommunications for private and public sector companies. The Healthcare segment imports and distributes pharmaceutical products to pharmacists and laboratories; provides logistics services to pharmaceutical companies; and acts as a distribution agent for selling and delivering pharmaceutical and medical products comprising distribution of kits of medical and paramedical equipment, generic medicines, medical supplies, and hospital equipment. The Consumer Goods segment manufactures and bottles beverages, including beers and non-alcoholic soft drinks; produces and distributes pens and razors, as well as plastic packaging products for the food and cosmetics industries; manufactures BIC writing products; and imports and sells BIC lighters and razors. The company was formerly known as Etablissements Verminck and changed its name to CFAO SA in 1887. The company was founded in 1845 and is headquartered in Sèvres, France. As of December 17, 2012, CFAO SA operates as a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
