U.S. stock futures were off this morning leading to a major move down across the major U.S. indices. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 85 points to 12,483.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 10.60 points to 1,316.20. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 16.50 points to 2,557.00.
Companies To Watch
Apollo Group (NASDAQ: APOL) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.97 on revenue of $1.12 billion. HB Fuller Co. (NYSE: FUL) is projected to post its Q2 EPS at $0.55 on revenue of $526.98 million.
SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) is estimated to post its Q2 earnings at $0.90 per share on revenue of $2.51 billion.
Shares of Harvest Natural Resources (NYSE: HNR) jumped 86.89% on Friday after the company announced its plans to sell its interests in Venezuela for $725 million.
Overseas Markets
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 1.01%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.79%, French CAC 40 index fell 1.78% and German DAX 30 index declined 1.42%.
Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.72%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 1.63% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.53%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined 0.51% and India's Sensex fell 0.66%.
The euro fell 0.55% versus the dollar to trade at $1.2479, down from $1.2564 in late North American trading Friday. The dollar index (DXY) gained 0.42% to trade at 82.56, versus 82.267 on Friday.
Crude oil for August delivery declined $0.67 to $79.10 a barrel. However, gold for August delivery surged $3 to $1,569.90 an ounce.
