Samsung Reveals New Features For S9

Following the unveiling of its latest flagship smartphone, Samsung (KS:005930) Electronics (LON:0593xq) also revealed to the public for the very first time the upgraded features of their new Samsung Galaxy S9 line. Samsung’s latest device was revealed first at an event held in Barcelona this Sunday.

According to Samsung Electronics Co, the latest flagship device aims to emphasize on visual applications for social media with the aim of attracting the customers from a younger niche in able for the company to withstand a slowdown on its market share.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 line which was launched in Barcelona at a mobile gadget fair has been attended by thousands of press members as the South Korean company and top tech giant revealed its latest flagship unit expected to compete directly with Apple’s latest iPhone.

Samsung IT and mobile communications president DJ Koh stated during the event that the most important function of a smartphone nowadays was “visual communication” which is the very reason for the design of the Galaxy S9 made for the social and visual generation.

Currently, Samsung has plans in producing advanced smartphone accessories such as wireless chargers and mobile docking station which will incorporate the features of the smartphone to a desktop.

The S9 was revealed to have been installed with improved and upgraded cameras. Aside from an advanced ISOCELL image sensor and a 12-megapixel camera, the cameras of the Galaxy S9 series also features what Samsung calls the “Super Speed Dual Pixel” phase detection autofocus for a camera with a higher and better performance. This would appeal to users who prefer shooting moving objects with the use of just smartphone cameras.

Samsung’s latest smartphone also is backed up with an upgraded sensor with cutting-edge smartphone optics and lens with dualaperture of f1.5 and f2.4 as well as optical image stabilization. These features give the user better photos even in low light scenes.

The S9 and S9+ also will be supporting multi-shot or multi-frame noise reduction technologies where twelve images can be shots in groups of three or fourth and then combined together in one shot. This will then give the user a photo with the best clarity and the least amount of noise. Cameras of the device were also installed with an additional telephoto sensor and lens with f2.4 aperture to be used for wide angle shots.

The device is set to be sold slightly cheaper than Apple’s iPhone X starting at $719.99 with carriers and retailers beginning to offer early discounts of as much as $350 off for those who would be trading in the previous version or those who would pre-order the device.
