EUR/USD
The euro rose against the dollar on Wednesday. EUR/USD surged above 1.13 amid a wave of soft U.S. economic data and better than expected growth in the eurozone over the first quarter. The pair traded in a range of 1.1203 at the low end and 1.1382 at its peak.
GBP/USD
The pound rose against the dollar on Wednesday, after data showing that U.S. retail sales rose less than expected in April fueled fresh concerns over the strength of the country's recovery. Elsewhere the UK monthly employment data showed that the unemployment rate fell down to 5.5%, the lowest since mid-2008, while wages increased more than expected, boosting the local currency.
USD/JPY
The Japanese yen was stronger against the U.S. dollar. USD/JPY currently trading at 119.10 with a high of 119.98 and a low of 119. The greenback came under fire yet again today after the data on the U.S. showing the retail sales was a miss and set a bad scene.
