Palladium prices are gaining on daily basis, proving Johnson Matthey’s recent palladium price forecast correct – at least for the very, very short-term.
Japanese palladium bar saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 2.7 percent on Friday, May 17. U.S. palladium bar gained 1.7 percent. The price of Chinese palladium bar increased 0.6 percent.
U.S. platinum bar prices saw a 0.9 percent decline. The price of Japanese platinum bar declined 0.1 percent. The price of Chinese platinum bar held steady.
Chinese gold bullion ended the day after a 1.4 percent drop last Friday. The price of Japanese gold bullion declined 0.6 percent. U.S. gold bullion ended the day after a 0.5 percent drop last Friday. The price of Indian gold bullion rose 0.2 percent after a two-day drop.
Japanese silver closed 1.5 percent lower. Following a two-day drop, the price of Indian silver increased by 1.5 percent. Just off of a 30-day low, the price of US silver rose 0.4 percent last Friday. After hitting a 30-day low on Wednesday, May 15, the price of Chinese silver rose 0.4 percent last Friday.
