Crédit Agricole: Increase Of 3% In The Profits Of The First Quarter
Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR) SA PK (OTC:CRARY) saw a small rise in its profitability for the first quarter, as strong gains in the investment banking and the benefits from the weakened euro were partly offset by the greater contribution to the new European rescue fund.
The second largest bank in France announced that its net profit rose by 3% to 784 million euro for the first three months of 2015, while its revenue rose by 8% and amounted to 4.36 billion euro.
Net profit in the investment banking advanced by 22% to 320 million euro thanks to the fixed income unit.
Note that the French bank paid 182 million euro to the European rescue fund, which was established this year to ensure adequate financing to financial institutions in need.
Britain: Recruitments Increased In The Financial Industry
The intense activity in the front of mergers and acquisitions led the banking giants in Britain in search of new executives with experience in providing consulting services for corporate agreements.
As a result, vacancies have increased considerably in the areas of City and Canary Wharf of London. The increase in trading volume in the currency and equity markets also contributed to this direction, which requires hiring more traders.
According to data released by the firm Astbury Marsden, jobs in the financial sector of the British capital rose to 4,070 in April compared with 3,030 in March.
