This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-M3) are trading higher by 14.75 points to $1558.25 per contract. Traders and investors seem to be stepping back into stocks after yesterday's sharp broad based sell off. Almost every asset class is catching a bid before the opening bell. The coming Friday is options expiration for the month of April so traders should expect a lot of volatility into the end of the week.
Earlier today, financial giants such as Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS), and Blackrock Inc (NYSE:BLK) reported earnings. It seems that these earnings were slightly better than expected, but it is the stock market reaction that traders care about. Both stocks are trading slightly higher on the session. Other financial stocks such as Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), Lazard Ltd (NYSE:LAZ), JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM), and Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) could all be in play after the news. Some other important earnings reports that were released today include Coca-Cola Company
(NYSE:KO), and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ).
