ARRIS International Plc (NASDAQ:ARRS) recently appointed senior leaders from within the company. Bruce McClelland has been selected as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and part of the board of directors. He will be succeeding the current CEO Bob Stanzione. Meanwhile, Bob Stanzione will take up the role of Executive Chairman of the company and will continue as the Chairman of the board.The change will be in effect from Sep 1, 2016
Background of the Appointees
McClelland currently holds the position of President, Network & Cloud and Global Services at ARRIS. He manages the development and delivery of the company’s broadband and video network infrastructure products, cloud-based software solutions.He has been associated with ARRIS for over 16 years since his appointment in 1999 as the Vice President of Engineering when he was responsible for managing the development of ARRIS’ voice and broadband products. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions such as products and services ‘ Group President and Customer Premises Equipment unit’s General Manager.
Prior to joining ARRIS, McClelland worked at Nortel Networks/Bell Northern Research ("BNR"). He holds a degree in Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
Stanzione has been associated with ARRIS since its inception as a joint venture named ARRIS Interactive LLC between Nortel Networks and ANTEC in 1995. He was the founding President and CEO and was instrumental in seeing through several milestones for the company ranging from purchase of Motorola (NYSE:MSI) Home from Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google to the recent acquisition of Pace. ARRIS has grown into a global leader with 2016 revenues being projected at almost $7 billion.
