Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Rubber sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were L&K Eng (TW:6139), which rose 9.97% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Mbi (TW:1783) added 9.96% or 2.25 points to end at 24.85 and Formosa Sumco (TW:3532) was up 9.92% or 3.70 points to 41.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sunplus Tech (TW:2401), which fell 9.61% or 1.35 points to trade at 12.70 at the close. Sinkang Inds (TW:2032) declined 6.03% or 0.60 points to end at 9.35 and Makalot (TW:1477) was down 5.44% or 13.50 points to 234.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 451 to 384 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.05% or 0.03 to $46.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.40 to trade at $1171.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.64% to 32.525, while TWD/CNY rose 0.26% to 0.1959.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.66.
