Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which rose 4.00% or 3.67 points to trade at 95.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.45% or 0.31 points to end at 12.96 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 2.40% or 1.15 points to 49.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which fell 6.96% or 3.84 points to trade at 51.36 at the close. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) declined 4.73% or 4.06 points to end at 81.83 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 1.80% or 0.13 points to 7.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 327 to 230 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.40% or 1.15 to 49.15.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.60% or 0.27 to $45.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.62% or 0.29 to hit $48.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1167.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.50% to 4.2690, while USD/PLN rose 1.27% to 3.8325.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.24% at 96.25.
