Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Media, Materials and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which rose 3.85% or 2.00 points to trade at 54.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) added 3.36% or 1.06 points to end at 32.58 and DnB ASA (OL:DNB) was up 1.55% or 1.4 points to 95.3 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DNO International ASA (OL:DNO), which fell 5.09% or 0.46 points to trade at 8.58 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) declined 4.19% or 0.7 points to end at 16.0 and Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) was down 3.20% or 1.21 points to 36.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 72 to 66 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.19% or 0.7 to 16.0.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.17% or 0.53 to $45.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.56% or 0.73 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.00% or 13.35 to trade at $1318.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.36% to 9.3496, while USD/NOK fell 0.20% to 8.4955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.19.
