Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 6.51% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.180 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 3.22% or 0.011 points to end at 0.353 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 1.51% or 0.150 points to 10.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which fell 9.24% or 0.230 points to trade at 2.260 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 7.80% or 0.014 points to end at 0.163 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 7.54% or 0.278 points to 3.410.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 86 to 37 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.22% or 0.011 to 0.353. Shares in Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.51% or 0.150 to 10.200.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.08% or 1.10 to $1339.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.91% or 1.25 to hit $64.31 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.04 to trade at $68.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.2412, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 88.98.
