Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.59%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 5.46% or 1.63 points to trade at 31.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Total SA (PA:TOTF) added 3.07% or 0.87 points to end at 29.20 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was up 2.63% or 0.29 points to 11.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which fell 3.56% or 1.57 points to trade at 42.52 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 2.85% or 2.06 points to end at 70.12 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was down 2.62% or 2.85 points to 106.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which rose 9.45% to 11.98, Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which was up 6.28% to settle at 4.71 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 6.13% to close at 4.88.
The worst performers were SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which was down 4.01% to 138.90 in late trade, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which lost 3.56% to settle at 42.52 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which was down 2.85% to 70.12 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 339 to 225 and 85 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.77% to 25.11.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.75 to $1902.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.76% or 0.69 to hit $39.98 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.48 to trade at $42.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1721, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.9080.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.907.
