When you can drive across country and not spend hours charging or searching for a place to get a charge, then i will Consider until then gasoline cars mainstream with EV for those travelling short distances… fix the charge times below 50 degrees while they are at it!
Agree! I just did a 1800 mile round trip roadtrip in a Tesla, my first long distance trip after purchase in October of this year. Had to make 11 stops for recharging at Tesla Supercharger stations, which are plenty across the country and easy to find. I love the car for city driving with level 2 charging at home and will most likely not do long distance driving in one stretch beyond 350 miles. If using Autopilot, which I did for most of the miles on the highway, make sure to be attentive and alert at all times with hands on steering and eyes on the road. It is the best car I have ever driven. If cross country driving is your main criteria for decision to buy EV, then don’t. If it is not your main criteria, don’t hesitate to buy a Tesla because Supercharging network across the country is quite good and getting better.
