Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Paper & Pulp and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Right Way Ind (TW:1506), which rose 10.00% or 1.55 points to trade at 17.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) added 10.00% or 0.88 points to end at 9.68 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was up 9.97% or 3.05 points to 33.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hannstar Touch (TW:3049), which fell 3.50% or 0.45 points to trade at 12.40 at the close. Powertech (TW:3296) declined 3.16% or 0.60 points to end at 18.40 and Lextar (TW:3698) was down 3.01% or 0.45 points to 14.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 486 to 268 and 121 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.97% or 3.05 to 33.65.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.19% or 0.10 to $53.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.29% or 0.16 to hit $55.85 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.35 to trade at $1225.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 30.888, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 101.65.
