Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 2.43%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 5.10% or 14.2 points to trade at 292.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 4.77% or 6.80 points to end at 149.40 and Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) was up 4.26% or 5.3 points to 129.6 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb), which fell 0.22% or 0.3 points to trade at 135.3 at the close. ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) added 0.30% or 0.5 points to end at 164.7 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) was up 0.80% or 0.65 points to 81.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 457 to 125 and 47 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.68% or 1.28 to $49.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.70% or 1.33 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.88% or 11.65 to trade at $1329.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.03% to 9.4073, while USD/SEK fell 0.44% to 8.4671.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 95.75.
