Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa), which rose 3.03% or 6.4 points to trade at 217.3 at the close. Meanwhile, Tele2 AB (ST:TEL2b) added 2.87% or 2.05 points to end at 73.55 and Boliden AB (ST:BOL) was up 2.84% or 4.50 points to 162.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb), which fell 0.89% or 1.2 points to trade at 134.1 at the close. Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) declined 0.31% or 0.25 points to end at 81.30 and Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson B (ST:ERICb) was down 0.14% or 0.09 points to 64.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 406 to 185 and 43 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.63% or 1.31 to $48.57 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.77% or 1.42 to hit $49.90 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.95 to trade at $1322.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.03% to 9.4040, while USD/SEK rose 0.77% to 8.5205.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.42.
