Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb), which rose 2.92% or 5.20 points to trade at 183.20 at the close. Meanwhile, SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa) added 2.31% or 0.59 points to end at 26.16 and Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb) was up 2.03% or 4.4 points to 220.7 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which fell 0.32% or 1.0 points to trade at 307.7 at the close. AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) declined 0.18% or 1.0 points to end at 561.0 and Svenska Cellulosa AB SCA ser. B (ST:SCAb) was up 0.08% or 0.2 points to 252.3.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 407 to 186 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.69% or 1.26 to $48.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.64% or 0.82 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.52% or 6.95 to trade at $1355.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.37% to 9.4749, while USD/SEK fell 0.75% to 8.3613.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 94.29.
