Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.41% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Svenska Cellulosa AB SCA ser. B (ST:SCAb), which rose 2.37% or 6.0 points to trade at 258.8 at the close. Meanwhile, SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa) added 2.21% or 0.61 points to end at 28.16 and ASSA ABLOY AB ser. B (ST:ASSAb) was up 1.85% or 3.0 points to 164.9 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb), which fell 2.26% or 4.20 points to trade at 182.00 at the close. ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) declined 0.77% or 1.2 points to end at 154.5 and Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) was down 0.62% or 1.7 points to 272.7.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 292 to 252 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 3.92% or 1.51 to $36.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.55% or 1.03 to hit $39.36 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.20% or 15.10 to trade at $1244.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.40% to 9.2607, while USD/SEK fell 0.00% to 8.3411.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 96.56.
