Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) added 10.88% or 2.60 points to end at 26.50 and Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) was up 9.38% or 1.80 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which fell 11.27% or 35.00 points to trade at 275.50 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 93 to 73 and 65 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) fell to 52-week lows; down 11.27% or 35.00 to 275.50.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $46.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.17 to trade at $1230.67 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 201.065, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 153.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.95.
