Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT), which rose 15.79% or 1.80 points to trade at 13.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 21.95% or 2812.50 points to end at 10000.00 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) was down 16.20% or 262.00 points to 1355.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 87 to 84 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) fell to 52-week lows; down 23.74% or 351.70 to 1130.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.18% or 0.09 to $48.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $51.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.07% or 13.32 to trade at $1262.72 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.78% to 202.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.43.
