Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Investment Trust and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.21% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 24.83% or 10.70 points to trade at 53.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 15.38% or 0.20 points to end at 1.50 and Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) was up 13.12% or 6.90 points to 59.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which fell 18.40% or 13.80 points to trade at 61.20 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 12.24% or 20.20 points to end at 144.80 and Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) was down 10.34% or 15.00 points to 130.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 126 to 61 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) rose to 52-week highs; up 15.38% or 0.20 to 1.50.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.54% or 0.24 to $44.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.85% or 10.85 to trade at $1283.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 212.095, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 146.420.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.64.
