Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Information Technology and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE), which rose 15.14% or 78.90 points to trade at 600.00 at the close. Meanwhile, PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) added 11.11% or 0.10 points to end at 0.90 and Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) was up 10.00% or 3.40 points to 34.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN), which fell 11.11% or 2.50 points to trade at 20.00 at the close. Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) declined 8.67% or 39.00 points to end at 411.00 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was down 6.67% or 0.10 points to 1.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 114 to 96 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) rose to 52-week highs; rising 15.14% or 78.90 to 600.00. Shares in Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 11.11% or 2.50 to 20.00. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) rose to 52-week lows; gaining 11.11% or 0.10 to 0.90.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.22% or 0.10 to $46.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.38% or 0.19 to hit $50.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.46% or 5.20 to trade at $1128.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.48% to 206.630, while USD/LKR rose 0.35% to 135.090.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.92.
