Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Motors and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU), which rose 25.00% or 3.90 points to trade at 19.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) added 11.25% or 0.90 points to end at 8.90 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) was up 7.67% or 9.90 points to 138.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM), which fell 13.53% or 3.60 points to trade at 23.00 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 12.98% or 298.20 points to end at 2000.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 8.33% or 0.100 points to 1.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 85 to 59 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) fell to 5-year lows; losing 13.53% or 3.60 to 23.00. Shares in Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) rose to 3-years highs; rising 7.67% or 9.90 to 138.90. Shares in Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) fell to all time lows; falling 8.33% or 0.100 to 1.100.
Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $45.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.80% or 0.37 to hit $46.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.62% or 7.85 to trade at $1281.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.31% to 186.510, while USD/LKR rose 1.23% to 150.065.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.86.
