Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Land & Property, Healthcare and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) added 10.23% or 4.50 points to end at 48.50 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was up 9.87% or 138.20 points to 1538.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 21.74% or 361.20 points to trade at 1300.00 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was down 7.50% or 1.50 points to 18.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 82 and 42 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.70% or 0.33 to $47.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 3.00 to trade at $1324.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.10% to 190.870, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 145.630.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.69.
