Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.84% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL), which rose 0.95% or 0.145 points to trade at 15.415 at the close. Meanwhile, Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) added 0.78% or 0.053 points to end at 6.873 and Indra A (MADRID:IDR) was up 0.12% or 0.011 points to 9.156 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which fell 5.97% or 0.502 points to trade at 7.908 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MADRID:TRE) declined 5.94% or 2.740 points to end at 43.400 and Acerinox (MADRID:ACX) was down 4.61% or 0.550 points to 11.375.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 176 to 33 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) fell to all time lows; falling 5.97% or 0.502 to 7.908.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.11% or 12.90 to $1153.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.19% or 1.16 to hit $51.85 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.39% or 0.80 to trade at $56.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.96% to 1.0950, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7099.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.81% at 97.22.
