Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.48%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which rose 0.35% or 0.45 points to trade at 127.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) fell 0.78% or 0.150 points to end at 19.125 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was down 0.08% or 0.040 points to 49.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which fell 2.45% or 0.091 points to trade at 3.627 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 2.89% or 0.150 points to end at 5.049 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was down 1.97% or 0.046 points to 2.285.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 127 to 50 and 28 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.67% or 9.15 to $1348.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $48.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.18 to trade at $50.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1316, while EUR/GBP rose 0.61% to 0.8675.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 94.57.
