Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Iberdrola (MC:IBE), which rose 0.73% or 0.043 points to trade at 5.929 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 0.42% or 0.080 points to end at 19.135 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 0.17% or 0.035 points to 20.895 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bankia (MC:BKIA), which fell 3.46% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.726 at the close. Banco Popular (MC:POP) declined 2.61% or 0.030 points to end at 1.120 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was down 2.27% or 0.114 points to 4.911.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 143 to 52 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.47% or 6.15 to $1311.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.19% or 0.96 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 0.78 to trade at $45.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8535.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 96.02.
