Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 0.67% or 0.070 points to trade at 10.525 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) added 0.55% or 0.075 points to end at 13.625 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was up 0.45% or 0.55 points to 121.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 3.27% or 0.390 points to trade at 11.555 at the close. Sacyr (MC:SCYR) declined 2.93% or 0.053 points to end at 1.755 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was down 2.87% or 0.815 points to 27.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 150 to 52 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.91% or 11.55 to $1273.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.27% or 0.65 to hit $50.58 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.54 to trade at $51.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7823.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.02.
