Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 1.58% or 0.310 points to trade at 19.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 1.39% or 0.600 points to end at 43.870 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was up 1.12% or 1.50 points to 135.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ACS Const. (MC:ACS), which fell 1.65% or 0.485 points to trade at 28.955 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 1.55% or 0.055 points to end at 3.502 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) was down 1.40% or 0.107 points to 7.564.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 88 to 79 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.92% or 11.05 to $1186.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.09% or 1.10 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 1.26 to trade at $56.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.0678, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 100.57.
