Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MADRID:IDR), which rose 8.79% or 0.863 points to trade at 10.675 at the close. Meanwhile, Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek) added 5.08% or 0.053 points to end at 1.097 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was up 4.72% or 0.391 points to 8.667 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ferrovial (MADRID:FER), which fell 0.87% or 0.190 points to trade at 21.640 at the close. Aena Aeropuertos SA (MADRID:AENA) declined 0.57% or 0.60 points to end at 104.10 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MADRID:DIDA) was up 0.21% or 0.012 points to 5.762.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 158 to 44 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.56% or 6.10 to $1084.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.57% or 0.72 to hit $45.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.47% or 0.73 to trade at $49.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0868, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.6969.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 98.21.
