Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols (MC:GRLS), which rose 3.59% or 1.355 points to trade at 39.105 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 2.30% or 0.885 points to end at 39.425 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 2.23% or 0.297 points to 13.627 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which fell 5.82% or 0.540 points to trade at 8.740 at the close. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 4.38% or 0.532 points to end at 11.627 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was down 1.61% or 0.061 points to 3.724.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 131 to 84 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.81% or 9.60 to $1189.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.48% or 0.69 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.26 to trade at $49.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1415, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.7364.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 94.21.
