Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles (MADRID:BME), which rose 4.46% or 1.585 points to trade at 37.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MADRID:AMA) added 3.24% or 1.145 points to end at 36.480 and Grifols (MADRID:GRLS) was up 1.36% or 0.495 points to 36.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL), which fell 3.08% or 0.485 points to trade at 15.255 at the close. FCC (MADRID:FCC) declined 2.71% or 0.255 points to end at 9.159 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was down 2.57% or 0.257 points to 9.758.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 110 to 93 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.08% or 0.485 to 15.255.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.66% or 7.80 to $1178.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.51% or 0.93 to hit $60.50 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.86 to trade at $64.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.1226, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.7248.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 95.26.
