Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (MC:BKT), which rose 1.57% or 0.099 points to trade at 6.419 at the close. Meanwhile, Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 1.55% or 0.086 points to end at 5.621 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.52% or 0.175 points to 11.655 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 1.59% or 0.170 points to trade at 10.485 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) declined 1.08% or 0.049 points to end at 4.503 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was down 1.06% or 0.200 points to 18.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 128 to 58 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.74% or 35.95 to $1276.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.33 to trade at $51.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1192, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.15.
