Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which rose 2.14% or 2.45 points to trade at 116.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) added 1.79% or 0.255 points to end at 14.525 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was up 1.79% or 0.078 points to 4.445 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 3.21% or 0.220 points to trade at 6.627 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 2.38% or 0.035 points to end at 1.436 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 1.18% or 0.120 points to 10.070.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 102 to 99 and 22 ended unchanged.

Gold for June delivery was down 0.38% or 4.70 to $1224.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 5.15% or 1.85 to hit $37.74 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 5.20% or 1.97 to trade at $39.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8072.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.33.
