Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.06% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 1.19% or 0.255 points to trade at 21.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 1.07% or 0.120 points to end at 11.325 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 1.01% or 0.101 points to 10.085 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 1.97% or 0.103 points to trade at 5.123 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 1.96% or 0.165 points to end at 8.255 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 1.48% or 0.175 points to 11.645.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 96 to 69 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.05% or 0.65 to $1227.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $53.14 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $55.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.0586, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8652.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.66.
