Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which rose 5.83% or 0.268 points to trade at 4.866 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 3.45% or 0.940 points to end at 28.160 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was up 2.28% or 0.23 points to 10.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 8.42% or 0.093 points to trade at 1.011 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 7.00% or 3.310 points to end at 44.000 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was down 3.78% or 0.048 points to 1.222.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 93 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Popular (MC:POP) fell to all time lows; down 8.42% or 0.093 to 1.011. Shares in Viscofan (MC:VIS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.00% or 3.310 to 44.000.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.75 to $1271.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.19% or 0.59 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.57 to trade at $49.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 98.64.
